MEET RENEE
Friendly, caring, and a little unconventional.
I never set out to become a massage therapist. What I had was a strong pull to support women through one of the biggest changes a body and life can go through: becoming a mother. So if you’re new to massage altogether, you’re in good company, I understand what it’s like to be a beginner too.
It wasn’t long before I met women who were pregnant again after a previous loss. There was almost nothing built for them. I understand, the physical weight these experiences leave behind. My work was never to fix anything. It was to make space: to work with what had happened, and to help a body move beyond it. To acknowledge what it had carried.
The longer I’ve done this work, the clearer it’s become: grief lives in the body. What started as supporting pregnancy moved into supporting the full emotional weight a woman carries, and how her body responds to it.
Your body is a guide
My body has always been my quiet guide, showing me when I’m moving in the right direction and when I’m not. Again and again I stood at crossroads, feeling a strong pull toward something I really wanted, only to be steered elsewhere by the people around me for one reason or another, because I didn’t trust myself enough. Those seasons left me tired, close to depression, with stress showing up in my skin and depleted energy. Over time, the signals from my body encouraged me to start trusting myself more. It was only then that I understood why I became a massage therapist: so I can offer that same invitation to other women, and help them recognise and trust the wisdom already living in their own bodies.
You are not broken. You don’t need fixing. The physical sensations we feel are valuable pieces of information. It’s not the body letting us down, it’s telling us something, often less about what we’ve recently done and more about how we feel about the direction our life is taking. Empowerment comes from trusting yourself, the most honest guide you have.
That’s what led me to change the name of my business.
Mama & Bump is where I started, but it stopped fitting the work. I found myself sending gift vouchers branded with a playful name to women who had just lost a pregnancy, and that didn’t sit right with me. My work had evolved, through the years that follow pregnancy, and every challenge and chapter a woman moves through. Balancing Womanhood is what I do: I balance energy, across every season of being a woman.
I use energetic touch, Reiki and a range of other intuitive tools where it feels right. I don't work from a single named modality, I listen to what each body reveals and respond to what is needed.
My aim is simple: to offer you the care you deserve, whatever chapter you’re in, and to help you feel like yourself again.
