Pregnancy: safe throughout, with no cut off date. Many women visit right up to 40 weeks and beyond. If you're not feeling well, stay home and rest instead. Some book the day of or before a planned C-section, to ease the anticipation.
Postnatal: as soon as you feel ready. If it's before your 6 week check up, please confirm with your doctor or midwife first. Postnatal treatments are for the first 12 weeks after birth.

If you've got a cough or cold, reschedule, rest is part of the recovery either way. And relax: check out from the day's demands for the time you're here.
