Everything you need to know about your experience at the massage studio.
Grief & Your Body
Everything feels hard.
You look okay on the outside but inside you are barely holding together.
Joy feels far away.
Does this sound like you?
Grief is heavy, and its lonely.
You look at everyone around you who seems to be moving through life okay, and you feel chained to the ground, like a prisoner in your own life.
So many women like you carry this grief silently, feeling isolated and guilty for still hurting in a society that expects you to 'move on'. It's not just a personal ache, it ripples through relationships, parenting, work and in your sense of self.
And your body carries the weight.
Clients often report feeling tired, achy, tight and heavy.
I see women going through all sorts of experiences, in addition to death and bereavement:
-
Relationship breakdown, separation and divorce
-
Pregnancy difficulties or loss
-
Caregivers of chronically ill/terminally ill people
-
A deep change that has arrived unexpectedly/A dream that didn't eventuate
-
Parents of children with special needs
-
Job loss and Identity loss
-
Loss of friendship
-
Transitioning into a new life chapter
-
Loss of a pet
In my sessions I help your body to be able to take a breath, to reconnect you with all of your body, to feel whole again and restore your energy flow. No rushing, no fixing, just listening to what your body needs.
"After my daughter was stillborn, the day before her due date, I really struggled with loving my body again. I hated my body for a while and I blamed it too. There were many things that I did over time that built up love and trust in my body again in preparation for another pregnancy. I was really nervous about someone touching my body, I was nervous about someone giving love to my body, because I couldn't give love to my body. I was really nervous that with her nurturing my body, it would bring up all the grief I was trying so hard to control. I felt supported, seen, heard, nourished, and loved".

The massage sequence will be discussed with you before commencing. If you are not comfortable having a certain area of your body massaged, this is not a problem. The sequence will be altered to meet your comfort level.
