This is the one piece of advice I find to be the most helpful for anyone who has not tried out any form of energy healing before.

Clients new to energy healing will be curious about what to do.

It's important to me that I guide them through the process so that they feel comfortable and at ease but without overloading them with possibilities.

If you are someone who is laying on the massage table thinking 'what am I going to feel?', 'how does this even work?' while the therapist is moving around you, you are MISSING out on experiencing the true beauty of energy healing.

So… what do I tell you to do?

Allow yourself to rest into the table like you would if you were going to bed for the night, be open to the experience and just breathe.

Be open to what you do or don't experience, because in my experience as an energy healing massage therapist, everyone's experience will be different.

I always give a brief overview of how the treatment will look, but when you get too bogged down with things you 'may' or 'may not' experience, it really does increase the 'thinking' about it, and the 'expectations' of the energy healing while laying on the table. And that's what takes away from 'feeling' the experience.

The 'combined' treatments that I offer use energy healing with massage, and these are the best treatments for anyone who finds it harder to unwind on the massage table. If you have any questions about these services, drop a comment below.

A number of things can lead to blocked energy including:
Suppressed emotions
Physical trauma/Injury
Stress/Overwhelm
Negative Thoughts/Beliefs
Negative Environmental Factors

When it’s not processed or ‘resolved’, your body will store it. And this is what is called an energy block.

It may result in you feeling flat, stuck, more emotional or irritable than usual, or even experiencing muscle tightness somewhere in the body.

While you don’t have to resolve the issues that cause such blockages, you do need to manage the flow of your energy.

You always want energy to flow freely through your body.

Just like a job that uses repetitive movement can cause that part of your body to become injured, you need to manage the injury to prevent further trouble being caused. Energy works in the same way.

Balancing your energy is the goal. And this is what a massage will do.

One of the most frequently felt symptoms from this list is the mild reflux.

I always know I am working in the right spot when bubbles of air start coming up from my chest to my throat. It’s a sign to say, here it is and it’s moving on now.

While the client on the table may not experience any symptoms of an energy shift like I do, one thing is for sure, they notice how they feel when the massage is complete.

They feel a difference in their body that is not so easy to describe at times but it’s ‘light’ and ‘free’ and ‘vibrancy’.

I can’t tell you how many times my mum used to say ‘go have a shower, you’ll feel so much better’. As a kid, I couldn’t think of anything worse. But she was right. I felt so much better once I got out the shower after losing a netball match or those times I was stressing over tomorrow’s maths test.

I still use this trick today as a 40 something year old woman and I still feel better afterwards. Well at least better than I was feeling before. I mean the house is still a mess and I wish my kids would better tidy up after themselves but at least I manage to keep my emotions in check for the most part 🤣

If we don’t manage our energy when it feels either over charged or completely flat, we risk wearing it on our physical body. Tension builds in our muscles. Our bodies feels heavy and difficult to motivate.

As a massage therapist, I help women feel better by peeling off some of the layers that have built up over time. It’s always a great feeling to return to a balanced baseline to not let life’s demands overwhelm you and take over.

When you begin to understand the concept of energy shifts, you’ll begin to notice them everywhere. You’ll notice them not just in yourself but in other people too!

Recognising shifts in others can actually be easier than recognising them in ourselves sometimes!

Anything that elicits an emotional response within you, good, bad or otherwise is energy moving and shifting. Take note of how each shift makes your body feel.
